Definition: neurotechnology

The technology that measures and influences the human nervous system. Neurotechnology includes brain and spinal cord stimulators, as well as devices that diagnose neurological conditions. For example, in the late 1990s, the FDA approved deep brain stimulation (DBS), which uses implanted electrodes in the skull to lessen the symptons of Parkinson's disease. AI is increasingly used to analyze brain signals and detect abnormalities in brain scans.

Neuropharmacology
Neuropharmacology uses neurotechnology to study the effects of how drugs, nutrients and food change the brain's behavior. See Neuralink and brain-computer interface.
